I have been holding toward the bottom of the top ten in weapons all year long. Now the tournament season is coming to an end, and it's still not a sure thing whether I get to stay there or not. This weekend, I picked up 2 more points for a second place, now I just have to see if that's enough to hold on.
I think the hardest part of this whole pregnancy thing for both of us has been the waiting part. Knowing that it takes nine months to create a healthy baby, we still both wish we could hold our baby right now. It especially got bad when we stopped at Babies R Us yesterday to go find one of those pregnant belly pillows for her. We already love this little fist sized creation, and very much want to see how he/she will become.
Since the first trimester will be coming to an end this week, here's a photo album of some of the highlights.

The second trimester begins next week according to whattoexpect.com, and she's just now beginning to show.
at our last doctor's appt. we had the opportunity to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. i must admit at first we were a little disappointed - having foolishly believed that we would have a sonogram every time. (we wanted to see the baby again) however, hearing the heartbeat was amazing. it took the doctor what seemed to us like a very long time to find the baby. at first i was worried that the baby wasn't there or had died or something, but after about 5 minutes, he found our little athlete. i say athlete because the doctors explanation for his long search was that the baby was so active, he had to wait till he/she settled down to get a clear heartbeat. (we have a future gymnast i think)
It's amazing the amount of prognosticators there are out in the world. Everyone and their uncles have been telling us whether we are having a boy or a girl. Truth is, each one of them has a 50% chance of being right. Almost like a weatherman. For the record, we are going to find out as soon as we can.
I was going through the tapes from our honeymoon, trying to put them into a video, when I came across this video of Meli. The cruise was having a talent show, so she decided to do the 2nd degree black belt form while the band played "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Enjoy.
